The political attention has turned away from the Labour Party conference to Lebanon, which Western leaders have warned is on the brink of war. British troops are being sent to the region to prepare for a mass evacuation which officials are warning could be imminent.

As Sir Keir Starmer lands in New York for the UN General Assembly, he faces questions from journalists post-conference which are centered around the brewing conflict, as well as pay for the long-term sick and receiving freebies.
