Teenager killed and six injured after two cars collide – 18-year-old arrested

A 19-year-old has died and six others have been taken to hospital after two cars collided in Cornwall.

Two black Seat Ibizas collided at a set of crossroads between St Trudy and St Breward near the B3266 at about 11.15pm on Friday.

The 19-year-old male, who was a front seat passenger in one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Six other people were taken to hospital with what are thought to be minor injuries, Devon and Cornwall police said.

An 18-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

The man, from Bodmin, has been released on bail, pending further inquiries.
