Cameron Diaz, 51, announces birth of first son

Cameron Diaz has announced the birth of her first son, Cardinal Madden, at the age of 51.

The Hollywood actress, who married Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, 45, in 2015, revealed the news of their second child in a joint Instagram post.

“We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our son, Cardinal Madden,” they wrote.

“He is awesome and we are all so happy he is here! For the kid’s safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures – but he’s really cute.

“We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our fam to yours. Best wishes and good afternoon!!”

The couple, who married in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles after dating for eight months, welcomed a daughter, Raddix, in December 2019.

There’s Something About Mary actress Diaz met Madden through his brother, the Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, and his wife Nicole Richie.

Joel Madden was among the famous faces who congratulated the couple – along with Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and singers Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, who wrote on social media: “Another earth angel.”

Diaz, who starred in films including Charlie’s Angels and The Holiday, took a break from acting following the musical Annie, released in 2014.

She is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix comedy Back In Action with Jamie Foxx, as well as Apple TV+’s Outcome with Keanu Reeves.
